Palestinian-Lebanese artist Aya Hawash earned her Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the Lebanese University in 2016. Her work is focused on two important topics, feminism, and refugees. Aya Hawash´s art focuses on feminism, women´s rights and being a woman refugee, deconstructing the cultural paradigms and challenges of a troubled Arab world and how this affects a woman´s subconscious, memory, and identity. She showcases the results of her search, inspired by poetry and her own and inherited memory, through black and white images of layered figures and scenes, mixed techniques or monochromes.

Aya earned her master’s degree in fine arts from the Lebanese University in 2016.

Aya Hawash´s art focuses on feminism, women´s rights and being a woman refugee, deconstructing the cultural paradigms and challenges of a troubled Arab world and how this affects a woman´s subconscious, memory, and identity. She showcases the results of her search, inspired by poetry and her own and inherited memory, through black and white images of layered figures and scenes, mixed techniques or monochromes.

Aya now works with NGO (Generations for Peace) as an art trainer.

Generations For Peace is a leading global non-profit peace-building organisation founded by HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein in 2007.

Generations for Peace is dedicated to sustainable conflict transformation at the grassroots, Generations For Peace empowers volunteer leaders of youth to promote active tolerance and responsible citizenship in communities experiencing different forms of conflict and violence.

Aya participated and organized several exhibitions such as “Selected exhibitions 2017 group exhibition, Letitia art gallery, Beirut, Lebanon 2016 pigmented women, group exhibition, Dar Al Mussawir, Beirut, Lebanon 2015 love in Beirut, group exhibition, UNESCO, Beirut, Lebanon.”
